Jarrod Waberski – NR Rok Cup Review

Jarrod Waberski

Jarrod Waberski headed to the 7th Round of the 2019 Northern Regions Rok Cup aiming for a podium finish and that is exactly what he did at Zwartkops last Saturday (28 September).

The DAW Racing driver qualified his Praga on the front row of the grid and after a brief challenge for the lead, settled into the position and held it to the flag.

Heat two saw much of the same and Jarrod again drove a flawless race to secure 2nd place.

The final heat of the day was a tough one. Jarrod had a good start and was in the leading pack going into turn one. It all seemed smooth sailing, but a slightly overzealous competitor went in to turn two a bit hot and collided with Jarrod and one of his Praga teammates. It took Jarrod a few minutes to get his kart back on track and he found himself almost a lap down. Jarrod drove hard to finish the race in 8th place.

Despite the heat three result, Jarrod’s performance was good enough to secure, the SA Champ, 2nd place overall for the day. The massive points haul has also ensured that Jarrod is still in the running for a podium finish in the 2019 Northern Regions championship.
