JARROD WABERSKI PREPARES FOR NOSTALGIC WEEKEND
The excitement is at fever pitch as Jarrod Waberski prepares to make his main circuit debut at the first round of the Investchem Formula 1600 championship, taking place at Zwartkops Raceway on Saturday (14 March).
Making the move from karts to main circuit is a daunting challenge, but Jarrod and his team have been preparing for this moment for well over six months. Jarrod has been testing regularly and the SA Karting Champion is ready to get on track.
Saturday’s race will be a nostalgic one, as single-seater fans see the return of the famous DAW Racing colours. Jarrod will be the third generation Waberski to race in the recognisable yellow and blue hues.
“I am exceptionally excited to be racing on Saturday and believe that my karting experience will serve me well. It is an honour to be racing in DAW colours and whilst my focus is on representing the brand well, I know I will look back on this occasion with fondness in the years to come,” exclaimed Jarrod.
Jarrod will be racing a 1600cc Ford powered Mygale, complete with slick tyres and a sequential gearbox. The championship will consist of 8 rounds across South Africa, with two heats in each round.
“I am exceptionally lucky to have a great team behind me, with a wealth of experience in single-seater racing. Together with the massive support from my family and friends, I know I can tackle any challenge thrown at me,” concluded Jarrod.
